Default aggressive
[Peterson] Do you know who Akira the Don is?
[Rubin] Of course, he's amazing
Proactive and aggressive are similar
And they're both good
You certainly have to be proactive in the world
You want to be dictating what happens
Not responding to it
And, yes, that means creating or controlling a situation
As much as you can
But being aggressive, that means you are ready to attack
As I always point out, this doesn't mean you walk around with your chest puffed out
Ready to bang heads with everyone around you
It doesn't mean that you confront people
Physically or mentally, head-on, without a tactically superior plan
It doesn't mean you go straightforward into conflict without thought, without reason
It doesn't mean you engage in attrition warfare

[Intro]
[Theo] Yeah, recently I've been trying to get a little bit more into, uh
Finding just motivation
[Jocko] Uh-huh
[Theo] 'Cause then at least I'm
Like, active in each
I've been trying to get more active into my day-each-day
Just like, okay, I want to do this
I call it going on offense
Instead of being on defense, you just go on offense
I'm gonna make some stuff happen
That's a good attitude when you think about, think, thinking about doing it
Just go do it
Don't waste time
[Chorus]
Thinking about doing it, just go do it
Don't waste time
Thinking about doing it, just go do it
Don't waste time
Thinking about doing it, just go do it
Thinking about doing it, just go do it
Thinking about doing it, just go do it
Don't waste time

People wanna know how to stop the laziness
And they wanna know how to stop the procrastination
They have some idea in their head, you know?
Some kind of a, a vision
What they wanna do, but they don't know where to start
And so they say, “Hey where do I start? And, and when's the best time to start?”
“Where do I start? And, and when's the best time to start?”
“Where do I start? And, and when's the best time to start?”
And I have very simple answer for that
Here and now
That's it
[Chorus]
Go!
You wanna improve?
You wanna get better?
Go!
And they wanna know how to stop the procrastination
They have some idea in their head, you know?
Some kind of a, a vision
What they wanna do, but they don't know where to start
And so they say, “Hey where do I start? And, and when's the best time to start?”

Go!
You wanna improve?
You wanna get better?
Go!
[Intro]
Standby to get some
First thing when a revolution happens
They take over the radio stations
'Cause they wanna get right into the thoughts of the people
Think, it's going into your brain, its words
You ever heard of Akira the Don?
Just press play
Rome wasn't built in a day
We all know that
Everyone hears that
But Rome
Also didn't fall apart overnight either
It took hundreds of years for Rome to reach its peak
But it also took time, hundreds of years
For Rome to decay and fall apart
And that is representative of life
You don't achieve worthwhile goals quickly or easily, they take time
They take struggle
They take relentless pursuit, day in and day out
Standby to get some
First thing when a revolution happens
They take over the radio stations
'Cause they wanna get right into the thoughts of the people
Think, it's going into your brain, its words
You ever heard of Akira the Don?

Good evening
I wanted to give you an update on the current situation in Afghanistan
As you know, we were set to leave Afghanistan this month and as we began the final drawdown
I made some critical errors
Namely, I underestimated the strength of the Taliban
And I overestimated the strength and capability of the friendly Afghani forces
This was my fault
And due to my mistake, the Taliban has taken control of Afghanistan
There are reports now that ISIS and Al Qaeda are working alongside them
Unfortunately, there are tens of thousands of Americans on the ground there
As well as friends and allies of America on the ground
These people, Americans and our allies are all stranded
