My Dad rang me the other day to tell me he’d been listening toMEDITATIONS II  all week and he thought it as excellent, although he wondered if my intention with having EVERY DAY  first was to cause a mass harakiri event. I said I thought it’s message was a deeply useful and important thing to remember, to which he replied, “I don’t need reminding thank you very much I’m 69.”

“69?” counted my son Hercules, falling about in pearls of gleeful laughter? “I can’t wait to tell all my friends my granddad is 69.”

It should be noted that Hercules and his friends don’t know WHY the number 69 is funny, they just know it IS funny. “Why is it funny?” I asked him once. “It’s a meme number,” he replied. “Like 420. Meme numbers are just funny.”
